Smarter Stories
Children reach for a phone every day – so let's make that time count. Smarter Stories turns screen time into story time: a story they love to read, a story they want to hear, and a little more imagination, kindness and curiosity every day.
Free short stories
Hundreds of illustrated short stories, free to read – no account needed. Choose your language and your child's age, tap a title and start reading. More new stories are on the way.
Read it, or let the app read it to you
Tap the little speaker and the story is read aloud – one page at a time, or continuously, with the speed you choose. Free for everyone, no sign-in, and it works offline.
Full illustrated books
Picture books that grow with your child. Younger readers get more pictures on every page; older readers get fewer pictures and richer, deeper stories. Every book downloads to your phone, so it reads offline – on holiday, on a plane, or anywhere with no signal.
Read it your way
Make reading comfortable: bigger text, an easy-to-read font, paper or night backgrounds, and a dimmer that leaves your phone's brightness alone – ideal for bedtime.
Narrated audiobooks
Press play and let the story do the rest. It keeps playing with the screen off, while the pictures follow along. Perfect for bedtime, car rides, or the breakfast table – your child listens, imagines and plays, and the phone becomes a storyteller.
Your own library
Tap the star to save any story or book. Your favourites are private, and they follow you to a new phone when you sign in.
