About This Book
Lena's broom stops mid-sweep. Behind the stacked paint cans, a palm-sized blue door is glowing like a night-light that breathes. Her brother Idris checks the graph-paper house plans taped to his workbench and frowns: it isn't on them. "Magic likes teams," Lena says. "Science likes patterns," Idris answers โ and together they press their palms to the little blue door. Beyond it lies Brightwood, a forest that looks sung into being, where a trembling firefly named Lumo has a problem: the Lantern Tree has gone dim and travelers are losing their way. Helping will ask something of Lena's hurry, and something of Idris's caution.
