About This Book
Leo finds him behind the tall blue bins: a muddy dog with a leaf caught on one whisker, watching with wide golden eyes. The tag spins and flashes one clear word — FINN — but the phone number beneath it is smeared to a cloud. Leo knows better than to rush a frightened animal, so he fetches water, hums his abuela's plant song, and waits. Then Priya from next door tries a crayon rubbing, and the numbers rise out of the metal like a secret surfacing from water. All except the very last one. Somebody out there is missing this dog. With his little sister Luz, a stack of homemade flyers and a neighborhood full of people who notice things, Leo starts looking.
