About This Book
Eli has counted 143 stars, and he keeps his notebook — and his voice — close. The rooftop is the one place where nobody asks him to explain himself. Then the door creaks and Nora Patel steps out with a wobbling flashlight and a wrinkled page titled Star List, covered in names her grandpa taught her. A meteor scratches silver across the dark. "One," Eli whispers, before he can stop himself. "Two," Nora whispers back. There is a meteor shower coming this week, and between them an idea starts to form — something involving paper-plate star wheels, dimmed hallway lights, and asking a whole building to come up and look at the sky.
